Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use onlineporqupine.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It is written in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, ask us.

Who we are

Online Porqupine Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17108652. Our registered office is 8 Yorick Road, West Mersea, Colchester, Essex, CO5 8HT, United Kingdom.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office. Our ICO registration number is ZC228553.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the membership.

Account details

When you join Porqupine Pro we collect your name and email address. Kajabi stores your password in a form that nobody at Online Porqupine can read. We also hold your subscription plan and status.

Payment details

Payments are processed by Kajabi Payments, powered by Stripe. Your card details go directly to them. We never see or store full card numbers. We can see your billing history, the plan you are on, and whether a payment succeeded.

Usage data

We collect information about how you use the site: log-in times, pages and lessons viewed, downloads, your IP address, and your browser and device type. Kajabi and Cloudflare collect some of this automatically to keep the site running and secure.

Contact-form messages

If you use the contact form, we keep your name, your message, and anything you choose to include in it.

You do not have to give us any of this. But without a name, an email address and a working payment method we cannot provide the membership — the contract needs them.

Why we use your data, and our lawful bases

UK GDPR requires a lawful basis for each use of your data. Here are ours:

  • Providing the membership — the training library, monthly asset packs and live sessions. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
  • Taking payment and managing your subscription, including cancellations and refunds. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
  • Sending service emails — receipts, renewal notices, changes to the membership. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
  • Answering messages sent through the contact form. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (responding to enquiries).
  • Sending marketing emails about new training, asset packs and sessions. Lawful basis: consent. You can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect anything we did while it was in place.
  • Keeping the site secure and preventing fraud and abuse. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (running a safe service).
  • Improving the training and the site, based on what members actually watch and download. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (making the membership better).
  • Keeping billing and tax records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.

Who we share your data with

We share your data with three companies, because they run parts of the service for us:

  • Kajabi — hosts the website, the member area and the training content, and sends our emails. Kajabi is based in the United States.
  • Stripe — processes payments through Kajabi Payments, including the card details we never see.
  • Cloudflare — provides DNS and content delivery, and sees IP addresses and traffic data in the course of keeping the site fast and secure.

Where these providers handle your data outside the UK — Kajabi is in the United States, and Stripe and Cloudflare may also process data there — the transfers are safeguarded by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the standard contractual clauses. You can ask us for details of these safeguards through the contact form.

We may also share data where the law requires it — for example with HMRC or other authorities — and with our professional advisers where necessary. We do not sell your data. We come in peace.

Marketing emails

We only send marketing emails if you have said yes to them. Every one includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect straight away. Service emails about your account and billing are separate — you will receive those for as long as you are a member.

How long we keep your data

  • Account and membership data: for as long as you are a member, and for up to 12 months after you cancel, in case you come back or raise a question.
  • Billing and tax records: six years after the end of the relevant financial year, because HMRC requires it.
  • Contact-form messages: for as long as it takes to deal with your enquiry, and for up to 12 months afterwards.
  • Marketing consent records: for as long as you are subscribed, plus a record that you unsubscribed so we do not email you again.

After that, we delete it or anonymise it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data where there is no good reason for us to keep it.
  • Restriction — ask us to pause our use of your data while a dispute is resolved.
  • Portability — receive the data you gave us in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to our use of your data where we rely on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent (marketing emails), withdraw it at any time.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

To exercise any of these rights, use the contact form at onlineporqupine.com/contact or write to our registered office. Exercising them is free. We may first need to check you are who you say you are. We will respond within one month; if a request is unusually complex we may take up to two further months, and we will tell you within the first month if so.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in, to make the checkout work, and to keep the site secure. Kajabi and Cloudflare set these. We do not run third-party advertising cookies — ours are the boring kind. If we ever add analytics or advertising cookies, we will ask for your consent first. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the member area will not work without the essential ones.

Children

Porqupine Pro is business training for adults. The site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Complaints

If you think we have handled your data badly, tell us first — through the contact form at onlineporqupine.com/contact or by post — and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use members' data, we will email members before it takes effect.
